Over the last year. like many people who offer similar services to me, I have had my Instagram account cloned many times and the people who follow me have been approached to pay for a supposed message, a reading or to make a donation. This practice is rife on social media platforms and I cannot tell you how much of my time is wasted dealing with this. There is nothing people like me can do as the cloned account blocks the original account, so I cannot even view it let alone do anything else. So what can you do if you are contacted by someone claiming to be Aquarian Insight?
- I am a professional: No professional reader or astrologer would ever contact anyone directly and privately to solicit readings or donations. The only way to book with me is via my official booking system. I pay a lot of money each year for this system to ensure a safe transaction experience for both you and me. I accept donations and am very grateful for them especially since I now offer all my videos for free and they are 100% funded by viewers, but this is only via the ‘Support’ button on my videos on Odysee or via my official Aquarian Insight Paypal.me.
- Check the spelling of the name: My Instagram handle is @aquarianinsight all of the fake, cloned accounts will either add an extra letter or a dash or underscore, so at first glance it looks like it’s me, but a closer look will show that it isn’t.
- Get the person who contacts you to prove it is me: I am a one-woman show. I do not have a manager or anyone that would be working on my behalf. I would be happy to send a voice note and often do on the rare occasion I do contact people. If they are unable to do this, it is not me.
- If you have to ask, it’s not me: Please do not send me a message asking for confirmation whether it is me. This is by far the biggest issue when my account gets copied and I spend days responding to dozens of people each day just to say it is not me, even though there is a post pinned to the top of my Instagram page, a message on my ‘Contact’ page and have made it clear I will never contact anyone for readings or donations in announcements in videos. I am grateful for the people who let me know that they have reported and blocked the account, but do not expect a response from me.
- Report and Block: On Instagram you can go to the fake account’s page and report it as impersonating me. After doing that, then block them.
As a general rule, I do not like interacting via direct private messages on social media. I have this feature switched off on Facebook and I would do the same on Instagram if it was an option. All of my announcements are made in my videos or on the Aquarian Insight Discord community server. The only time I will contact you personally, is in the following situations:
- You will receive automated confirmation and reminder messages via email when you have booked an appointment with me.
- I will email you if there is a problem with your booking.
- You will receive an email with a recording/video of your appointment with me.
- I contact clients or people who make donations to me when I want to show my gratitude with a discount code for future readings or a voice note expressing my gratitude.
- I may respond via email to queries received via my website ‘Contact’ form.
- I interact daily and directly with my community members via the Aquarian insight Discord community. Please send a message via the ‘Contact’ form. to receive an invite to the community server.
Outside of this, I will not contact anyone. Please be safe and report and block if in any doubt. This whole thing costs me time, money and energy, and it need not if we all just remain vigilant and deal with these people as quickly and as efficiently as possible.
