What Questions Would You Ask the Tarot?

I’m back at work today after spending time with my family and I have been going over the questions that you have been sending in.  I have selected one for a reading and it will be posted next week.  I am sorry it has taken so long, but apart from the usual chaos of the holiday period, I wanted to choose a question that would get the most out of a reading and that would help others who are in a similar position.  What questions would you ask the tarot if you were going to have a reading?

The thing is that some of the questions that have been sent in are not entirely suitable for a reading, so I’m going to give some extra pointers here so anyone who wants a reading can consider their situation carefully and send in a question that would get the most out of a reading.  I have written about the points I will touch on here before, so please be sure to read 3 Easy Tips on How to Make the Most of Your Tarot Reading and Why Do You Want a Tarot Reading? – The Purpose of the Tarot for more details.

Yes/No Questions

If you ask questions like “Will we get married?”, “Does he love me?” or “Have I met my soul mate?” what is presupposed is that there will only be two possible answers; ‘Yes’ or ‘No’.  A reading can give you so much more information than a simple positive or a negative.  Plus very few readings are that black or white, which is as it should be as very little in life is that clearly defined.  Look at the reading as a way to explore the energies of your situation to help you to understand it better and to help you make choices and relevant decisions.

Asking About Other People

Questions like “Does he love me?” or “Is she cheating on me?” are basically asking the cards to spy on another person for you.  Firstly, any reader with any kind of moral or ethical code will not read for anyone without their permission, but more than that, if you are asking for a reading, the focus of the reading should be you.  Think about how you can use the cards to guide you without having to resort to spying on another.  For example, you could say that you suspect your partner is cheating on you and ask to look at the energies of your relationship so you can make your own choices and decisions.

Asking More Than One Question

I receive reading requests which are more than one specific question.  For example one I just received last week was: “Does he love me? Is he more happy with someone else than with me or is it just me that he feels good with?”  This is not one specific, direct question.  The reason I insist on a clear, specific question is not just because it makes it easier to conduct a reading, but it is very important that someone requesting a reading knows exactly what it is that they want to know.  I have found that the most direct questions, receive the clearest readings.  If your question is confused and trying to encompass too many factors, the reading will do the same.
