Moon Tarot Card Meanings

An in depth analysis of the #Moon tarot card meanings and imagery. Key Words: Fear, Illusion, Imagination, DreamsAt first there doesn’t seem to be a clear message in the image of this card; but that in itself is a message. Confused? Well, it’s easy to be when the Moon appears in a reading. The first thing I see is a moon high above a landscape. In the foreground, at the bottom of the image, a crayfish crawls out of the water at the start of a pathway that leads far into the distance. On either side of the path are two canines; a dog and a wolf, and they look up at the moon, barking or howling. In the distance at the edges of the image are two towers.

The Moon in Astrology is associated with our emotions; it is also connected to signs we may receive from dreams. The Moon in the image is full and it has a face on it. The face has his eyes closed and looking at the set of his mouth, makes me think that rather than being asleep, it is in deep contemplation about something. It has been known for a long time that the Moon influences everything from the ebb and flow of the waves to the very nature of human beings.

The dog and wolf in the image represent our human natures; one more wild and the other more domesticated. What about the crayfish crawling out of the water onto the path? It brings to my mind the beginning of evolution, when creatures left the swamps and first walked on land. The path that the crayfish is stepping onto runs straight down the middle of the image. On one side is the wolf, on the other the dog; which side is the correct one, because one must be as there are, what appear to be identical towers in the background of both sides.

The scene speaks to me of choices and decisions. When the Sun is high in the sky, everything is clear. All is bright and clearly illuminated and it’s easier to feel safer and more positive. But the same landscape by moonlight is totally different. There are shadows and darkness and nothing is clear. We have to look more carefully to discern what is there. This image makes me think that all may not be as it seems and that we have to look carefully and discern what is real and what is not, and then make a decision. The Moon seems to urge us to rely on emotions, feelings and that which we know rather than what we think we see.

These are the Moon tarot card meanings we use in the free readings on Aquarian Insight:

Key Words:  Fear, Illusion, Imagination, Dreams

General:  With the Moon as your card today it is important that you realise all is not as it seems.  But rather than distrust everything around you which may lead to a sense of feeling lost, concentrate on your intuition and look for signs that will show you the path to take.  Pay particular attention to your dreams as they may just hold a message for you.

Love:  You may feel a little lost within your love life today which could lead to emotional or angry displays.  Take some time for yourself and listen to your inner guidance rather than reacting from your fears; either way, this is not a good time to be making drastic decisions.

Work:  Things will not seem clear today and you may find yourself suspicious of colleagues.  Show some patience and try to get all the information before you react – all will soon be revealed.

A time of confusion, when all is not what it seems.  It may be difficult to understand the motives and actions of people around you.  Do not rely on what you see or hear, instead focus on your intuition.  There may be subtle signs or dreams that will guide you at this time.
